March 2009

March is definitely a month for lions and lambs.

Transitioning from a fierce battle of the weather to the soft significance of art, I was granted a very unique blessing in February. Photographer Gangfeng Wang opened his exhibit “Deepest China” at Queens University. I had the honor of shooting the two day opening for this amazing photographer and artist.

According to his bio, Wang worked as a laborer in China. Beginning in 1981, he used a second-hand camera with expired film to document everyday life in China. Wang was named one of Canada’s top 25 photographers by Photo Life Magazine and won Ballantine’s First International Photography Award. I can’t tell you how remarkable it was to be recognized by an award-winning photographer.

Lastly, I will wrap up the month with a fun project for www.winkbaby.net. It is always a treat to work with babies, bows, ruffles and buttons. I can’t wait to see how my photos will enhance this website’s marketability.
