February 2009

Falling in love happens. Being in love is amazing. Staying in love takes work. Doing what you love is a blessing.

Every month I pinch myself wondering when I’m going to wake up from this dream. Beautiful children, wonderful husband, fantastic friends, a comfortable home and a job I love collectively build the foundation of my life. Surrounded by such blessings I can’t help but see hearts and stars everywhere.

Each client I work with invites me into their lives, even if for only a short while. Some clients become friends and some friends become clients. In a recent case, my friend Julie has become my center of focus.

Julie...
Julie…

Julie has recently been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. We all can imagine how such news would turn one’s life upside down. The diagnosis becomes revolutionary as it defines your world, throwing it into a state of worry, frustration, anger and unrest.

Beautiful...
Beautiful…

Remarkably, Julie’s outlook more closely resembles calm, hope and resolve. I sit back and reflect on her fight for life with awe and her emotional steadfastness with genuine jealousy. She is able to grasp the importance of every moment, every facet of her day and hold them closely to her heart. At the very least, she is teaching me that time is not something to be squandered.

I will be documenting her progress over the next few months with updates and a photo journal. I hope that you would participate in her process. You may find it as awe inspiring as I do.

The love captured this month already…
