As customary with summer, July was filled with weddings, engagements and a number of special deliveries. Falling back into a familiar schedule, I ran to and from snapping my camera happily at each event and this domino effect will spill over to this month as well…

Miss Sophia’s parents are getting married in Pennsylvania to be united through the exchange of vows. Photographing their wedding and family sessions will be another notch to my list of enjoyable jobs.

Not to be outdone by weddings, little Maddi’s 1st birthday will be one spectacle rivaling any other. Surrounded by family and little friends, she will be elicited by oohs and aahs from her admirers. The colors, decorations, and the cake that is planned will result in amazing photo’s for her family to keep and display with pride.

One exciting birth that we are waiting for is the arrival of our much anticipated “Bobcat” baby. Nine long months of deliberating pink or blue will end with a special treat. I will have the honor and pleasure of being one of the first people to hold this beautiful bundle of joy.

While some may find the endless procession of weddings, births and birthdays tedious, I consider it to be an opportunity to add notches to my list of happy moments. Watching families unite, grow and expand provide a unique occasion for me to feel a part of each family. This inclusion, by many degrees, is often more rewarding than monetary means. While the fees pay the bills, the emotional rewards fuel the passion for my art.

Commercial shoots allow me to utilize a skill set separate from family sessions. Back to school, children’s clothing and individual product photos require a distinctive exercise of skill. Lighting, positioning, attention to detail as well as showing a product to the best advantage are all requirements which much be met precisely. Marrying marketing detail with creative talent is not always easy but is a challenge I eagerly embrace and execute with excellence.

August will undoubtedly prove to be a month packed with family and commercial shoots executed at a frenzied pace.
